That’s right. The Lee River Snow Riders are number one in the province of Manitoba. Our club has been awarded Snowmobile Club of the Year by SnoMan. This is a great accomplishment, considering there are more than 60 registered clubs in the province.
The news gets even better. In total, our club has won a total of three SnoMan Excellence Awards. In addition to Club of the Year, long-time club member Darryl Mozil was awarded Snowmobiler of the year. This past winter Darryl and his son Dallas, rode from Lee River to Cold Lake Alberta and back in minus 30 degree weather! It’s that kind of love of snowmobiling which gets you such an award.
Lastly, but certainly not least………..long-time member and club director Theo Vanderzwan was awarded Groomer Operator of the Year! And deservedly so! All those long hours opening the trails and wrenching on the equipment was recognized.
“These awards reflect the commitment and passion we have for snowmobiling,” LRSR President Brad Wall said. “Our club is only as strong as our membership and volunteers. It’s a fantastic honour being recognized as Club of the Year. We are also very happy for Darryl and Theo. These awards are much deserved.”
The SnoMan awards of Excellence will be handed out at the SnoMan Congress on Saturday November 2nd at the Canad Inns Regent. Members interested in attending can visit the SnoMan website.
